MAC-TALLA
Mac-Talla Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a range of whiskies which showcase the diversity of the exceptional whisky making region, Islay. The brand aims to take the drinker on a taste journey across the island, allowing them to discover the depth and variety of Islay Single Malt. The Flavourscapes range further demonstrates the island’s ability to create entirely distinct styles of whisky and with the addition of the bespoke labels customers will be able to get a sense of the liquid’s flavour from simply looking at Marzia’s creations.
FLAVOURSCAPES PROJECT
This project began with a desire to demonstrate how the island of Islay can produce styles of whisky entirely distinct of one another. We wanted to produce something unique and exciting, similar to the sensory experience of drinking whisky and so we asked an artist to create some beautiful artwork that represents the different flavour profiles of each expression.
We are releasing the first two expressions of the new Flavourscapes series on the 29th of September at The London Whisky Show. These will be small-batch, limited edition bottlings, where we ask an artist to create a visual, based on the interpretation of the tasting notes of each whisky. This release features two UK exclusive expressions representative of distinct flavour profiles found across Islay.
THE ARTIST
Marzia Sileno is well-known in the whisky industry as a former tastings manager at the iconic Milroy’s of Soho. She is also a talented artist and her works caught the attention of the Mac-Talla team who recognised that her vibrant and multilayered creations would be the perfect way to convey the intricate layers of flavour that are present in Islay Single Malt Whiskies.
Working in collaboration with Mac-Talla Team, Marzia has produced a series of stunning visuals which Mac-Talla are proud to display on the label of these limited edition, small-batch bottlings, exclusively available in the UK.
Each artwork translates the tastes of the liquid into a stunning visual, capturing the essence of the whisky’s personality on canvas.
